AUDITION

Notification of audition time is usually sent within a week of receiving the application form. You usually have a few weeks before your audition. Should you have any problems attending your audition or have not received a notification within 10 days please call us on 020 7581 6100 (overseas +44 20 7581 6100) or email us at admin@lsda-acting.com.

All UK applicants must do an audition in person.  For overseas applications, please see International Student section. Auditions are held in London on a monthly basis.

Covid-19 update: due to the current situation, we are not running auditions in person at Bute Street for the time being. All applications, whether based in the UK or not, will have to audition remotely, by sending recordings.  If you wish to have more information about this process, go to the International Students page of this website.

Please note that there is no fee to audition for any course at LSDA

For the audition, you are asked to prepare 2 monologues, 1 classical and 1 modern, suitable for your age, gender, etc. As a general rule, ‘classical’ means anything written before roughly 1800 and ‘modern’ means anything written after roughly 1950. Both must be from published plays. These pieces should be learnt by heart and last no longer than 2 minutes.  Current students will be present in the school on the day of your audition if you would like to ask them any questions.  In the audition you will first perform your prepared pieces before having a brief, informal chat with the audition panel.

We do not provide feedback to candidates on their audition and the decision of the audition panel is final.

There are no auditions for the Short Courses.
