FACILITIES AND RESOURCES

Our school is at 4 Bute Street in South Kensington. The dance, movement and some of our acting classes are held at the Bhavan Centre which is located near to the college in West Kensington. The Bhavan Cultural Centre also has a theatre which is sometimes used for student productions. The Mountbatten Auditorium, is a 295 seat performing space set in the old church building section of the Bhavan.

Additional workshops/rehearsals take place at the Drayton Arms Theatre, which is a short walk from our Bute Street site. The venue seats 50 in static, tiered seating, has a dedicated prop room as well as a green room.

Our school library has over 2,500 theatre, film / TV scripts, poetry, and other relative books and we are a short distance from the Brompton Library which offers a comprehensive selection of books on acting, theatre, film, and dance.  The Cine Lumiere is also near with its library DVDs and tapes.

For graduating productions we use a number of different professional theatres including the Soho Theatre, the Arts Theatre, Trafalgar Studios, the Arcola Theatre, the Battersea Arts Centre, the Oval House Theatre, Lost Theatre, the Chelsea Theatre and Theatre 503.

STUDENT SERVICES

The London School of Dramatic Art is a small college where each student is given individual attention. We look after our students’ pastoral and educational needs. Our teaching staff are available to support students at every stage of their training.  Before the first day of term, we organise an evening where students and staff meet informally. This social gathering is a wonderful icebreaker to welcome students onto the course.  We also organise various theatre visits and social events for students throughout the year.
